EY wins top prize at Graduate Recruitment Awards

Professional services firm takes home five awards at the prestigious event

EY Ireland scooped the top prize at the recent GradIreland Graduate Recruitment Awards, receiving the honour of Graduate Employer of the Year 2017 following its significant investment in revamping its graduate induction programme in 2017 – placing the candidate at the centre of the process. The professional services firm, which provides tax, assurance, advisory and transaction advisory services, received five awards in total including:

  • Graduate Employer of the Year
  • 1st place Best Internship Programme
  • 1st place Grad Ireland Diversity Recruitment Award
  • 1st place for Best Student Marketing Campaign
  • 3rd place for Innovation on Campus

Commenting on the firm’s success, Dermot Daly, Assurance Partner and Sponsor for Student Recruitment at EY Ireland said: “These award wins are a testament to the efforts our recruitment team and the wider business in developing EY’s ‘Graduate 2 Graduate’ strategy last year. This new approach was graduate-centric – so that we could ensure that we were speaking to the next generation of professional services experts in their language, and thinking of what they wanted in their careers. Through this new approach, we embraced new technologies and overhauled the candidate experience by communicating online and through social media channels. In doing so, we were able to outperform the competition and exceed our recruitment targets in 2016, and we look forward to building on this success in 2017 so that we can continue to recruit the very best talent.

EY was recognised at the GradIreland awards for its successes which include achieving market leading social media engagement, a 234% increase in completed applications by graduates, and over 18,000 unique visitors to its careers website.

EY Ireland is a major student employer, providing an annual platform for up to 270 graduates and 200 summer intern and work placement students. The firm has graduate programmes across Audit, Data Analytics, IT, Tax, Transaction Advisory Services and Advisory (consulting). Graduates on EY’s training contracts will become fully qualified accountants and/or tax accountants within 3/3.5 years, while Advisory graduates will become qualified consultants after three years of on the job and formal training.
