Enterprise Minister Batt O' Keeffe has announced as many as 85 new jobs are to be created by Zurich Insurance Group.
These positions will bring the firm's total Irish workforce to 1100 - 85 new roles are in two of the company's European centres in Dublin, with 60 positions in the IFSC and 25 jobs set for Blackrock, south Dublin.
The insurer expects the overall recruitment push to be completed by the end of 2010.
Mr O'Keeffe said the move was a strong endorsement of Ireland's financial services workforce.
