This one-day Seminar will cover the latest research and trends at global, EU and in Ireland as regards renewable energy (wind, solar, ocean, bio-energy etc.), water, forestry and waste. The prospects for each sub-sector in Ireland will be assessed in detail having regard to the Government's green economy and climate change agendas. Participants will recieve an overview of the challenges and opportunities facing companies and project promoters in this strategically important sector.

Presenter and Facilitator

Dr Peter Brennan is Managing Director of EPS Consulting (www.epsconsult.ie), a public affairs and public policy consultancy. Peter is also joint owner of Bid Management Services (www.bidmanagement.ie). He was President of Dublin Chamber in 2010; is a Fellow of the Irish Management Consultants Association; a Council member of the Institute of Taxation; and a Director of Edelman Ireland. He isa founding member and director of the Public Policy Advisors' Network (www.ppan.ie). He has a unique mix of public and private sector experience at both national and international levels over a 40 year period having worked in the public sector and as IBEC's Director for European Affairs.

Peter has been chair of the Climate Change Research Group of the Institute of International and European Affairs since 2006. He is the author (June 2012) of an e-book Ireland's Green Opportunity: Driving Investment in a Low-carbon Economy . He was the principal author of the IIEA's report (2008) The Climate Change Challenge: Strategic Issues, Options and Implications for Ireland. Peter was an advisor (2008-2011) to the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Sustainable Finance and Climate Change. He was the main author of the all-island report for Forfas (2009) on business opportunities in the environmental goods and services sector (the green economy). He is the founder of the Dublin Chamber Green Economy Group.
