Finalists announced for Published Accounts Awards for 2016

Chartered Accountants Ireland Leinster Society has now announced the shortlist for its Published Accounts Awards for 2016.

Now in their 39th year, the Awards, sponsored by the Irish Stock Exchange, reward companies for excellence in financial reporting in Ireland.  This year’s shortlist includes a total of 26 public and private companies, including not-for-profit organisations.

The winners will be announced at a special gala evening event, taking place in The Mansion House on Friday, 18 November, 2016.

In addition to the category awards, there are three other awards, consisting of an Overall Winner’s Award from across all categories, a Social Responsibility Reporting Award and a Branding, Communication & Marketing Award.

Last year, DCC plc claimed the overall winner award for the fourth consecutive year and also won in the Irish company listed on a Foreign Market category.  Among the other winners at last year’s awards were CRH plc (Large Quoted Company), Irish Continental Group plc (Small/Medium Quoted Company), ESB (Statutory Unquoted Large Entities) and Dalata Hotel Group plc (Enterprise Securities Market).  Concern won the award for the Not-for-Profit category. Last year’s recipient of the Branding, Communication and Marketing Award was Housing Finance Agency; with Bank of Ireland Group and CRH jointly receiving the award for Social Responsibility Reporting.

Commenting on the 2016 awards, Shane McAleer, Chairman of Chartered Accountants Leinster Society, said: “The Published Accounts Awards are all about recognising excellence in the presentation of annual published accounts. The call for entries to next year’s PAA Awards 2017 will be issued in late June/early July 2017 and the Chartered Accountants Leinster Society would encourage all companies currently in the process of preparing their accounts for the year end in December to consider entering their organisation into next year’s awards, which will mark the 40th year of the Published Accounts Awards.
