Irish companies encouraged to apply for Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards 2020

Deloitte, in association with Bank of Ireland, has launched the 2020 Best Managed Companies Awards programme and is calling for ambitious Irish companies to apply.

The programme, now in its twelfth year, recognises indigenous business success throughout Ireland and celebrates those companies performing at the highest levels, driving their growth strategy and acknowledging the efforts of their entire organisation. The Best Managed Companies network in 2019 comprises of 136 companies representing 27 of the 32 counties of Ireland, with combined total revenues of almost €11 billion, export sales of almost €3 billion and employing approximately 44,000 people.

Speaking at the launch of this year’s programme Niall Glynn, Partner, Deloitte said: “The Best Managed Companies network continues to grow year-on-year and we believe that it is imperative to recognise superior indigenous business performance, especially at a time of such economic uncertainty. Twelve new companies joined the network in 2019 and the list of winners represents a wide range of industries. We would encourage eligible Irish businesses to apply to the 2020 programme, which affords companies advice and coaching from Deloitte and Bank of Ireland professionals, powerful networking opportunities and, if successful, is a symbol of their organisational success and achievement.”

Tom Hayes, Chief Executive, Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking said: “The Best Managed Companies programme evaluates indigenous Irish companies on the basis of strategy, capability, commitment as well as financial performance. The adjudication process takes a holistic view of the organisation and recognises the importance of all elements that are involved in running a business at a high standard. The programme recognises that, on a micro and macro level, Irish businesses are having a direct impact on the way our country operates, and sets the standard that all business leaders and innovators should be striving to meet.”

Those companies whose applications are successful will have access to exclusive and personalised coaching sessions from both Deloitte and Bank of Ireland representatives. This is an excellent opportunity for companies to review and evaluate their business strategy and can help with a future development path for the organisation. The programme provides abundant networking and professional development opportunities at a series of prestigious events throughout the year, including the annual symposium, run in conjunction with the Irish Management Institute, which is attended by 400 professionals from across Ireland, as well as the gala awards ceremony for successful finalists. The programme also offers successful companies public and peer recognition on a national and international level. Above all, the designation is an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of every member and stakeholder of the company.
