Mitchell& Son was established in 1805, at about the same time as the Battle of Trafalgar was taking place off the south coast of Spain.
William Mitchell came from Scotland and set up a confectionary and restaurant business on Dublin’s famous Grafton Street.

The Mitchell family still own and run this thriving wine & spirit business that has 4 different locations in and around Dublin.

Jonathan Mitchell, 6th generation and his son Robert, 7th, carry on the traditions of their forefathers and the company is the oldest independent Wine & Spirit merchants in Ireland.

The whiskey Green Spot was created by the family some 80 years ago and to this day it remains as one of the most sought after Irish Single Pot Still whiskeys in the world.

The Mitchell shops carry the finest wines in the world and the shop in the CHQ building in the IFSC was awarded “Spirit Specialist of the Year” in January.
