Over 1,000 people from corporate Ireland participated in A&L Goodbody's Corporate Crime and Regulation Summit today. Since launching in 2019, the ALG Corporate Crime and Regulation Summit has grown to become Ireland’s leading event for corporate counsel, risk and compliance professionals, executives and directors across a range of business sectors. The Summit brings together leading experts, regulators, law enforcement officials and business leaders to discuss key issues and new developments in corporate crime and regulation.

Key speakers at the event included: Seana Cunningham, Director of Enforcement and Anti-Money Laundering, Central Bank of Ireland; Dārta Tentere, the Russia sanctions coordinator in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA); Ian Drennan, Chief Executive, Corporate Enforcement Authority; Patrick Lordan, Head of the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau and the Irish Financial Intelligence Unit.

Commenting on the event Kenan Furlong, a partner in ALG's Disputes and Investigations Group, said: “We were delighted to bring together such an impressive selection of key-topic experts and leading industry professionals for our 2022 Corporate Crime and Regulation Summit. Now in its fourth year, we are proud that the event has become such an important date in the diary for Ireland’s corporate counsel and risk and compliance professionals. It's important that we have a forum for people in the industry to share knowledge and best practice to help support the business sector in a rapidly changing environment.

The 2022 Summit was shaped by feedback and input from sector experts and clients of ALG on what was important to them. It included sessions on:

  • Managing corporate risk
  • Dealing with a dawn raid
  • Whistle-blowing under the new whistleblowing regime
  • Enhancing organisational/operational resilience
  • ESG, with a particular emphasis on social action
  • Regulatory enforcement investigations in the financial services
  • Managing compliance with sanctions

For more information on the 2022 Summit, which will include recordings of the sessions, you can visit ALG's website here.
