Minister of State with special responsibility for Financial Services, Credit Unions and Insurance Robert Troy has opened a public expression of interest to contribute to the Digital Assets Industry Group (DAIG). The establishment of the DAIG is a commitment under the new Ireland for Finance Strategy 2026-2030, which was launched in August 2026.

Minister Robert Troy TD, said:

“Tokenisation has the potential to fundamentally transform how financial markets operate, delivering greater efficiency, transparency and opportunities for innovation.

“Ireland is uniquely positioned to capitalise on these developments, given our established strengths in international financial services, investment funds and technology.

“That is why, under our new Ireland for Finance Strategy, we have committed to establishing a dedicated Digital Assets Industry Group, bringing together industry expertise to identify the practical actions needed to ensure Ireland remains competitive as this technology develops.

“Our ambition is not simply to keep pace with international developments, but to ensure Ireland is well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities they present.”

The Industry Group is being established for an initial period of six months to provide strategic, cross-industry advice to Government on matters relating to digital assets, including, but not limited to, crypto-assets, tokenised financial instruments, distributed ledger technologies, and emerging forms of digital value.

The deadline for applications is midday October 30th.
