On Friday [25th February] the global financial superapp enabled customers in countries across the world to make free instant donations to their local Red Cross Ukraine appeal.
Funds will be used for humanitarian aid and first aid for those affected by the invasion of Ukraine - including those forced to flee their homes.
Red Cross teams are on the ground now in Ukraine and will continue their work to repair vital infrastructure, support health facilities, and help families with life-saving food and hygiene items.
Revolut has long-standing partnerships with the Red Cross, which helped expedite launching the humanitarian appeal to millions of its customers.
The International Red Cross said in a statement on their website last week: “Communities in Ukraine have been bearing the brunt of eight long years of conflict. Even before recent developments, this is a conflict that hits people daily on personal, psychological and emotional levels, bringing death, injury and separation from loved ones, as well as the huge mental toll of ongoing violence and insecurity.”
To date, Revolut has enabled instant Red Cross donations for users in Lithuania, the UK, Ireland, Poland, Switzerland, Portugal and Singapore. More countries will be added to that list in the coming days.

Revolut also announced on Friday that it has waived fees for all remittances to Ukraine - allowing its global customers to send money at no cost to banks in the country.
