Run In The Dark 2024 – Important Road Closures Notice – Wed 13 Nov

As darkness sweeps around the globe at 8pm local time on Wednesday 13 November 2024, 25,000 people in 50 cities worldwide will hit the streets to Run in the Dark.

From Sydney to San Francisco, this global movement will light up the night as they run 5k or 10k in support of the Mark Pollock Trust.

Together, they will run for those who dream to walk by fundraising for our charity partner, Collaborative Cures, whose mission is to bring people together to cure paralysis in our lifetime.

EVENT TYPES
Flagship Events are large-scale chip timed events that happen in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Belfast, London and Luxembourg.
Pop-Up Events are small volunteer led fun runs that happen in 50 cities worldwide.
Office Runs are small private fun runs that companies lead from their local offices.
RemoteRuns are virtual events where people complete their own route any time from 12 to 13 November 2024 and upload their time to the website using a third party app of their choosing (Strava, MapMyRun, Garmin Connect, etc.)

About Mark Pollock

Unbroken by blindness, adventure athlete Mark Pollock Mark became the first blind man to race to the South Pole in 2009. In 2010 he fell from a second story window and broke his back leaving him paralysed from the waist down. As Mark strives to walk again, his most complex journey is ahead of him - to find a cure for paralysis for him and the millions of people around the world. Collaborative Cures is the charity partner of Run in the Dark and its mission is to bring people together to cure paralysis in our lifetime to change the lives of 60 million people around the world with some form of paralysis.

The Run in The Dark plays a vital role in funding Mark Pollock's mission.

On Wednesday 13 November, 25,000 people in 50 cities around the world will pull on their running shoes and head for the door. Dublin is the flagship event, with 10 other events around Ireland.
