The CCD passes 60 industry awards

The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) is delighted to have been honoured with the Gold Award for Best Overseas Conference Centre at the Meetings & Incentive Travel (M&IT) Awards 2023 on Friday night. The gala banquet at Battersea Evolution, London was attended by hundreds of UK and international industry professionals.

The M&IT Industry Awards recognise and reward excellence in the industry and are voted for by UK event organisers. This is the eleventh time The CCD has taken home Gold, the highest standard award, having also won Silver in 2011 and 2017.

"We are honoured to receive this accolade for the eleventh time”, said Stephen Meehan, Chief Executive, CEO, The CCD. “These awards are not just a symbol of recognition by the industry, but also a testament to the dedication, passion and pursuit of excellence demonstrated by all the team back in Dublin. I’d like to thank everyone at The CCD for everything they do on a daily basis that has delivered this amazing result.”

This year, The CCD was shortlisted against six major international convention centres –Bella Center Copenhagen, RAI Amsterdam, Grimaldi Forum Monaco, CCIB (Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona), Fira Barcelona and PortAventura Convention Centre.

Since opening in September 2010, The CCD has now won 61 industry awards and hosted over 2,100 events. The venue hosted 110 events in 2022, including 35 international conferences as the industry made a strong recovery after COVID-19.

Confirmed upcoming events 2018 include European Conference of Presidents of Parliament 2023, SREcon 2023, ISACA Europe Conference 2023: Digital Trust World, 16th European Public Health Conference 2023, ALI Global Sustainability Day 2023, European Cell and Gene Therapy Congress 2023, EACR-AACR-IACR 2024, 43rd Annual Conference of the International Association for Impact Assessment 2024, Internet Engineering Task Force 121
