More Information

This conference, entitled Take Charge – Together Towards a Low Carbon Future, will take a comprehensive look at energy consumer empowerment.

The rapid speed of innovation in smart energy technologies increasingly puts the consumer at the centre of energy sector decarbonisation. For investors, energy providers, consultants and other energy sector stakeholders, the new trend of providing “Energy as a Service” in the on-demand era of Amazon, Uber and Airbnb requires both in-depth knowledge of the latest smart technologies, as well as effective ways to engage the consumer in energy saving behaviour at home.

Denis Naughten TD, Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment will set out his vision for an Irish low carbon economy.

Michael Liebreich, Founder and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Bloomberg New Energy Finance, will outline the latest trends in energy investment, particularly with regard to the electrification of transport and heating.

Sara Bell, CEO of Tempus Energy, and Marguerite Sayers, Managing Director of ESB Networks, are among the speakers who will showcase the latest smart grid trends in the age of the Internet of Things and cloud technologies.

Global leaders in communications, behavioural analysis and behavioural change in energy consumers, Juliet Shavit, CEO of SmartMark Communications and Patty Durand, CEO of the Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative, will speak about the crucial importance of consumer segmentation, engagement and trust-building in the low carbon economy of the future. This is especially timely, considering the award of the Nobel prize in economics to Richard Thaler, a behavioural economist.

This is a must-attend event for anyone who wants to be prepared for the opportunities and challenges of a consumer-centric energy future.
